Oxford Food Hub

We are always very grateful when we see the van from the Oxford Food Hub pull into the car park at Kidlington Baptist Church on a Friday morning.  We don’t know what it will be carrying, but we do know that it will be bringing welcome items for our guests.  Often it includes fresh food, such as eggs, fruit and vegetables, which make a fantastic addition to the “store” items we always supply. This input of fresh food is invaluable as it adds choice and variety to the food parcels which are packed for clients.

The Oxford Food Hub is a registered charity with the joint aims of reducing food waste in the Oxford area and reducing food poverty within the local community.  It collects good quality fresh food from local supermarkets and wholesalers and delivers it for free to over 80 registered charities in the Oxford area – including us. They do not give out food directly to individuals as we do.
